Review: Stila Convertible Colour in Poppy

Hello lovelies,

I won't bore you with excuses to where I've been, I had a couple of tough months and blogging seemed more of a chore rather than something that I actually wanted to do. I decided to take a break as my heart really wasn't in it and now I'm back.

You know those products that you spot and have always wanted to try, well the Stila Convertible Colour For Lips and Cheeks was on my list. Last year, I spotted them popping up on everyone's blog and I wasn't sure whether they were just all hype, I had my heart set on Gerbera but I spotted a bargain when I popped into work as Poppy had been reduced to a mere £4 and at that price I couldn't resist!

Poppy is a deep shocking red and at first glance, scary. I normally tend to lean toward a coral or pink toned blush, but the red seemed perfect for Winter to add some warmth back into my face. I always thought that red as a cheek colour is too much but in moderation, this really adds a fresh glow without ending up looking like a clown. As a lip colour, it works perfectly.

The formula of the Convertible Colours is quite creamy, and they're very pigmented. A little really does go a long way. I like to apply a little bit of Poppy to the apples of my cheeks using my fingers and then I blend it out using the Real Techniques Stippling Brush - I find this picks up any excessive product and helps to tone down the brightness. It buffs the formula out a little more, so there are no obvious harsh lines, so it's a bit more subtle.

I have to add that I'm really impressed by this little multipurpose product from Stila, usually you get a dual usage product that either works on the cheeks but does nothing for the lips or vice-versa. I've heard a few oily skinned girls say they don't get on with the Convertible Colour but I do. It lasts about 6-8 hours on my skin using a primer, it's just such a lovely multi-use product that I can throw on in the morning. I've now got my eye on Peony, which may be a pay day treat to myself.

Stila Convertible Colours are available from Feelunique from £16.00
